How did he propose?

I always imagined my proposal to be on a beach at sunset with not many people around. Every year family and friends would say “Will it be this year?” but it never was. I thought he was never going to ask. The previous year we had been to Thailand on holiday with the most stunning sunsets we had ever seen and it didn't happen.

The following year we had booked for Zante. I didn't have a clue about the proposal, but two nights before we were due to come home we had our food as usual there was this great outdoor crazy golf which we had played a few times after dinner as it was open till 11pm. We had played golf and walked back on the beach towards our hotel. We stopped to look at the stars as they were so clear and we sat on the end of a sun bed each. The next thing I knew Chris was down on one knee with a box, he was so nervous he couldn't open it. he was stumbling over his words. I was sobbing as I couldn't answer. I had waited 8 years for that moment!! I still have no idea how he had managed hide the ring in the hotel room for 9 days. Looking back the only thing that was unusual was he had paid extra for a speedy security check at Gatwick airport which now I understand why!

How did you feel when they proposed?

So happy I was ecstatic! I never thought it was going to happen!

Who was the first person you told?

My parents were the first I told but they had been in on it the whole time. I had to ring them a few times whilst we were on holiday as my car was in the garage having some work done, I can’t believe how well they hid it from me, my parents are terrible liars!
